Is It too Late??????????????????????

Watching the news, reading the headlines, talking to others and listening to our elected officials scares the hell out of me. My question to all of you is "Do we arm ourselves"? I don't know, but we all need to be calm but outspoken in our belief in freedom for all.

From reading and watching I can't understand why we need to have another army unless it is to control the people (us) against our own government. I can't believe what I am hearing but was warned thirty plus years ago it may happen. I thought it was a bad joke.

Because we question our elected leaders Obama believes he needs to have his own private army as well armed as our Marines, Air force, Army, and national guard, for what? Where in America are the people raising up against the government. no where. What is he afraid of, Freedom? YES

Freedom of assembly, freedom of speech scares the hell out of the left because "We the People" have freedom of thought and speech. Remember, Pelosi, Clinton and other left leaning believe they know what is best for us and have said so. Who made them god and what gives them the right to try to control our thoughts and actions. They want to and are trying through lies, misinformation, and a blurring of the facts as to what their intentions are. All politicians lie but this group is the best and not bashful about at.

When will our government begin to tell us How Many Children we can have. One of Obama's czars believe it is within the government power to limit the number of children you have. Another is a Communists, another believes Chavez was correct to take over the media and control their output, another believes babies can be killed up to two years of life.

This administration is one of the sickest ever elected and We the People need to be prepared to stand up and make our voice heard/vote counted to save our country from the fascists/communists that are trying to take over. They want to stifle free speech over the airwaves and we have to fight back. Our elected leaders no longer believe in the Constitution nor the freedoms our forefathers established and many of our fathers, grandfathers, brothers and sister have died to protect. At one point they believed our returning soldiers may be "Terrorists" and should be watched. How sick are these people and how do they get elected.

Remember Al Franken? He got elected with more votes then there were registered voters in a MN county. If this can happen once, what is to say it won't happen again. It will and we must be ready to fight voter fraud as ACORN will continue to STUFF the ballot box. Maybe Obama will have some more "Black Panthers" outside polling stations. We were all told about Obamas background but we were called "Racists". Well, folks welcome to Obama Nation Building, Do you like it?

Read "Shadow Government" and it will scare the hell out of you if only 50% is true. Can we afford to be silent while our freedoms and country are taken in the still of the night. Democrats complained very loud about Nixon and dirty tricks. Has anyone noticed the silence from mainstream media outlets while Obama takes over our country with his Czars? Congress has surrendered their authority to unelected groups such as ACORN, SEIU and others who are writing (congress should) bills that are not read but then passed. Where in the constitution does it say ACORN or anyone other the Congress writes bills that spend our money.

Obama and his cronies are trashing the constitution and no one says enough. Where are elected senators and representatives while our freedoms are taken by these groups. We the People need to be ready for anything that may arise and we need to VOTE THE BUMS OUT!

Protest, write letters, call you reps., email the congress and advise them if they want to keep their jobs, STOP THE NONSENSE NOW.

This letter is from Dr. Zane Pollard. He is on staff and operates at Children's Health Care of Atlanta. Google him, he has a very impressive CV.

Friends:

I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching all of this national debate on healthcare... It is time for me to bring some clarity to the table and, as your friend, by explaining many of the problems from the aspect of a doctor. First off, the government has involved very few of us
physicians in the healthcare debate. While the American Medical Association has come out in favor of the plan, it is vital to remember that the AMA only represents 17% of the American physician workforce.

I have taken care of Medicaid patients for 35 years while representing the only pediatric ophthalmology group left in Atlanta, Georgia that accepts Medicaid. Why is this? For example, in the past 6 months I have cared for three young children on Medicaid who had corneal ulcers. This is a potentially blinding situation because if the cornea perforates from the infection, almost surely blindness will occur. In all three cases the antibiotic needed for the eradication of the infection was not on the approved Medicaid list. Each time I was told to fax Medicaid for the approval forms which I did. Within 48 hours the form came back to me which was mailed in immediately via fax and I was told that I would have my answer in 10 days. Of course by then each child would have been blind in the eye. Each time the request came back denied. All three times, I personally provided the antibiotic for each patient which was not on the Medicaid approved list. Get the point-rationing of care.

Over the past 35 years I have cared for over 1000 children born with congenital cataracts. In older children and in adults, the vision is rehabilitated with an intraocular lens. In newborns we use contact lenses which are very expensive. It takes Medicaid over one year to approve a contact lens post cataract surgery. By that time, a successful anatomical operation is wasted as the child will be close to blind from a lack of focusing for so long a period of time. Again, extreme rationing. Solution- I have a foundation here in Atlanta supported 100% by private funds which supplies all of these contact lenses for my Medicaid and illegal immigrant’s children for free. Again, waiting for the government would be disastrous.

Last week I had a lady bring her child to me. They are Americans but live in Sweden as the father has a job with a big corporation. The child had the onset of double vision 3 months ago and has been unable to function normally because of this. They are people of means but are waiting 8 months to see the ophthalmologist in Sweden. Then if the child needed surgery, they would be put on a 6 month waiting list. She called me and I saw her that day. It turned out that the child had accommodative esotropia (crossing of the eyes treated with glasses that correct for farsightedness) and responded to glasses within 4 days, no surgery was needed. Again, rationing of care.


Last month I operated on a 70 year old lady with double vision present for 3 years. She responded quite nicely to her surgery and now is symptom free. I also operated on a 69 year old judge with vertical double vision. His surgery went very well and now he is happy as a lark.

I have been told- but of course there is no healthcare bill that has been passed yet -that these 2 people because of their age would have been denied surgery and just told to wear a patch over one eye to alleviate the symptoms of double vision. Obviously, cheaper than surgery.

I spent two year stint in the US Navy during the Viet Nam war and was well treated by the military... There was tremendous rationing of care and we were told specifically what things the military personnel and their dependents could have and which things they could not have. While in Vietnam, my wife Nancy got sick and got essentially no care at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. She went home and went to her family's private internist in Beverly Hills. While it was expensive, she received an immediate work up. Again, rationing of care.

For those of you who are over 65, this bill in its present form might be lethal for you. People in England over 59 cannot receive stents for their coronary arteries. The government wants to mimic the British plan. For those of you younger, it will still mean restriction of the care that you and your children receive.

While 99% of physicians went into medicine because of the love of medicine and the challenge of helping our fellow man, economics are still important. My rent goes up 2% each year and the salaries of my employees go up 2% each year. Twenty years ago ophthalmologists were paid $1800 for a cataract surgery and today $500. This is a 73% decrease in our fees. I do not know of many jobs in America that have seen this lowering of fees. But there is more to the story that just the lower fees. When I came to Atlanta, there was a well known ophthalmologist that charged $2500 for a cataract surgery as he felt he was the best. He had a terrific reputation and in fact, I had my mother's bilateral cataracts operated on by him with a wonderful result. She is now 94 and has 20/20 vision in both eyes. People would pay his $2500 fee. However, then the government came in and said that any doctor that does Medicare work cannot accept more than the going rate (now $500) or he or she would be severely fined. This put an end to his charging $2500. The government said it was illegal to accept more than the government allowed rate. What I am driving at is that those of you well off will not be able to go to the head of the line under this new healthcare plan just because you have money as no physician will be willing to go against the law to treat you.

I am a pediatric ophthalmologist and trained for 10 years post college to become a pediatric ophthalmologist (add two years of my service in the Navy and that comes to 12 years). A neurosurgeon spends 14 years post college and if he or she has to do the military that would be 16 years. I am not entitled to make what a neurosurgeon makes but the new plan calls for all
physicians to make the same amount of payment. I assure you that medical students will not go into neurosurgery and we will have a tremendous shortage of neurosurgeons. Already the top neurosurgeon at my hospital who is in good health and only 52 years old has just quit because he can't stand working with the government anymore. Forty-nine percent of children under the age of 16 in the state of Georgia are on Medicaid so he felt he just could not stand working with the bureaucracy anymore.

We are being lied to about the uninsured. They are getting care. I operate on at least 2 illegal immigrants each month who pay me nothing and the children's hospital at which I operate charges them nothing also. This is true not only on Atlanta, but of every community in America. The bottom line is that I urge all of you to contact your congresswomen and congressmen and
senators to defeat this bill. I promise you that you will not like rationing of your own health. Furthermore, how can you trust a physician that works under these conditions knowing that he is controlled by the state. I certainly could not trust any doctor that would work under these draconian conditions.

One last thing, with this new healthcare plan there will be a tremendous shortage of physicians. It has been estimated that approximately 5% of the current physician work force will quit under this new system. Also it is estimated that another 5% shortage will occur because of decreased men and women wanting to go into medicine. At the present time, the US government has
mandated gender equality in admissions to medical schools. That means that for the past 15 years that somewhere between 49 and 51% of each entering class are females. This is true of private schools also because all private schools receive federal funding. The average career of a woman in medicine now is only 8-10 years and the average work week for a female in medicine is only 3-4 days. I have now trained 35 fellows in pediatric ophthalmology. Hands down the best was a female that I trained 4 years ago- she was head and heels above all others I have trained. She now practices only 3 days a week.

Yes, Obama is at it again in another town hall meeting in Belgrade, MT today. If the man would tell us the truth about what the house is trying to pass would be nice but will never happen as if he did, it would not stand a chance of passing.

If he really wanted to have health care for all Americans it would be very easy, let us have what they (Congressman/Senators) get. If health care should be equal for ALL Americans, then why shouldn't we all have the same benefits? We could do away with Medicare/Medicaid and place all Americans in the same group policy. Sound easy, yes, will it ever happen, NO.

The elitists such as Obama will never allow the average citizen to have what they get. We the average America are so far beneath them that they believe we should shut up and take whatever they want to give us. Sorry pres. but we won't shut up and go away. Some voted you in believing you would bring our government around and you did. We just didn't know it was to become some mix of Socialism and Communism. It is no wonder as he has a Communists as a Czar and spent a great deal of time with a communists while growing up. Read his history and it will scare the hell out of you.

Town Hall meeting are great and we need to speak our louder but avoid being a hindrance to open dialogue. As we have seen, Obama has brought the storm troopers out (Union Thugs) to intimidate the average person and it will not work. We have also seen some nuts on the other side bring weapons to meetings. Neither is correct and must stop. Remember who brought up the Nazi are present and it was Pelosi. She is one of the most dangerous people I have ever seen and to think she is third in line to become president should scare the world.

Just heard the Messiah say "I believe in the Constitution" and fell out of my chair. Where in the constitution does it state Czars can oversee the Congress and do not have to answer to the American people? Where does it state the government can tell a private business how much if can pay to its employees? Big brother is alive and growing in Washington.

If we don't stop the health care bill and force congress to really address what is wrong, drug prices/hospital cost/tart reform/etc. that effect cost, nothing will change. How many programs can anyone name that the government runs in an effective manner?

Social Security - No

Medicare - No

Medicaid - No

Post Office - No

Government Purchasing - No

Defense Spending - No

FEMA - No

Divert Our Attention

When everything is going wrong with our country and the Democratic majority has buried us in debt, they have devised a way to divert our attention to what they have done and have not done to help our country.

THEY START INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION.

Just so typical of them isn't it. They screw up the financial system to began with (Fannie/Freddie) and blame Bush, pass a massive package to fire up the economy, try to pass a massive health care and cap & trade farce which will so bankrupt our country.

Now again they will divert your attention to a witch hunt so you forget what a poor job they are doing unless you call screwing up our country good. What the hell is wrong with you people. I see protest in Chicago of all places and people there get it. The chosen ones own home town has had enough and realize what this "Empty Suit" has done. The great Community Organizer is leading our country over the cliff. He isn't alone by any means, there is Nancy, Harry, Chris, John (the baby killer) Kerry and many others who are selling out each one of us so they can keep and expand there power base. These people and many others of both parties don't give a damn about this country expect, "What they can get".

My father some 35 years ago predicted we may have to fight to retain our freedoms and I thought he was nuts. I no longer think so if things don't change soon. At this moment in my life I expect to see this turn very very ugly as our own government has turned against us. They treat us like idiots and we are forever electing them over and over. We the idiots keep putting the ones who caused our troubles back into a position to do it again and again. These people WORK FOR US and not the other way around as they believe.

Call you so called elected officials and tell them enough. They have spent our last penny and vote the bums out if they don't listen. Their arrogance allows them to think they are smarter then us, know more then us and treat us like children. These are the same people that won't allow the bills to be read before voting because they know we would raise holly hell over what they are doing.

I mentioned so called, remember the senator from MN (the has been comic) was seated after being elected with invisible voters.

More votes were counted then people registered? Only in Democrat wonderland can this happen.
