Ensign receives handwritten confirmation
This doesn't happen often enough.
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.
Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it "Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold."
The note was a follow-up to Ensign's questioning at the markup.

Where is the Stimulas Money?
As a person who is very familiar with the construction industry (builders, engineers, architects) and have spoken to many, I finally realized why the money is not flowing. Obama and his administration is holding up the process so they can spread the funds around during an election year. This administration is more concerned about the 2010 election then getting the funds into the various states that have JOB READY projects.
Just in the last three days I have found not less then five major projects that are being held up in Florida for lack of Stimulus Funds. Engineering firms that do work for the state are laying off workers as the stimulus funds are being held. This not only harms the states but hundreds of workers who need work now, not next year. Obama claims he has saved thousand of jobs all the while unemployment climbs. Indians would say he "speak with forked tongue". I'll just call him a liar and I think everyone will get the point.
People need to understand that next year when jobs and projects start happening, it could have stated the previous year except for the 2010 election and the buying of votes. Obama and his administration will claim credit and yet these are the same people who could have put thousands back to work long ago. Yes they should get the credit for keeping people out of work longer just in the hope of getting more votes.
Elect people who listen to the voters, not people who think they are the chosen ones. We are sick of the chosen ones and we all know who they are. These are the ones who get elected and never leave. Their egos won't allow them to do what is right because they forgot their jobs were meant to be temp jobs, not jobs forever.
Remember John Danforth, he was elected to the senate and stepped aside after a number of years to open the way for others to serve. Fred Thompson did the same and I'm sure there are others.
To all watch the movie "Dave" and you will see how a honest president should care about his country. I can't remember if we have ever had someone like that. Just a dream.

In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group
"Americans for Freedom of Information" has released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College. Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school.
The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California.
The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program.
To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking.
Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim.
The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as president.
When reached for comment in London , where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue.
Britain 's Daily Mail has also carried the story in a front-page article titled, "Obama Eligibility Questioned," leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K.In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey. This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president.
Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama's citizenship or qualifications to serve as president. Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending.
This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still on-going but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter. We rarely get a chance to see another country's editorial about the USA
Read this excerpt from a Romanian Newspaper. The article was written by Mr. Cornel Nistorescu and published under the title 'C'ntarea Americii, meaning 'Ode To America ') in the Romanian newspaper Evenimentulzilei 'The Daily Event' or 'News of the Day'.
~ An Ode to America ~
Why are Americans so united? They would not resemble one another even if you painted them all one color! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations and religious beliefs.
On 9/11, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the Army, or the Secret Service that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts Nobody rushed out onto the streets nearby to gape about.
Instead the Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand.
After the first moments of panic , they raised their flag over the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a government official or the president was passing. On every occasion, they started singing: 'God Bless America !'
I watched the live broadcast and rerun after rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who gave his life fighting with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that could have killed other hundreds or thousands of people.
How on earth were they able to respond united as one human being? Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put into collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit, which no money can buy. What on earth can unites the Americans in such way? Their land? Their history? Their economic Power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases with the risk of sounding commonplace, I thought things over, I reached but only one conclusion... Only freedom can work such miracles.

Carter Speaks for No One
I am sick to death listening to peanut heads like Carter who was the worst president to come along until Obama call the health issue a "Racists" issue. This peanut brain dead ex should just shut his mouth and go away. Wasn't it bad enough he got a Nobel Peace Prize for absolutely nothing. He was a weak sister as president who gave us high interest rates, high unemployment and a weak economy upon leaving.
I don't see Obama as anything other then president who I think is leading us down a road the majority of Americans don't want to go. He is not a Black, White, Red, Yellow president, He is the President no matter what until we can Vote him out or remove his power in 2010 after taking the House and Senate. As long as he keeps this up, Conservative government will return and undo many of his programs.
Others have now jumped on the "Racists" bandwagon and they need to join Carter in the history of idiots who have no idea what else to say. To say I reject the Obama heath care plan because of color, I say to all who do, go to H_ll. I don't accept the term African American because we are ALL Americans. Not Native Americans, African Americans, German Americans or anything else. Get over it, WE ARE ALL AMERICANS and need to start acting like it.
During the last election some may have tried to divide us on color and BOTH side may have done so. Stop the nonsense and this means all of you who try to divide this country. Don't we have enough problems without our beloved elected officials doing it. So many in Washington make me sick with the corruption in both parties that I want them gone. How can it get any worse if "We the People" vote them out. Think about it, Washington with no corruption and people actually doing what we elected them for. They were sent there to do what is right for US, NOT THEM.
Stop the racists name calling and maybe the average Joe will follow suit. Tell some of our ex presidents to shut up and stop the name calling as it won't help but only hurts our country.
Time for a Bottle of Tums as they make me sick.

Rep. Joe Wilson, R,SC, - Man with Balls
I agree the place of his outburst may not have been the best but he TOLD THE TRUTH which most of our elected leaders won't do. They use words such as"Misrepresent, Misinterpret, Really Didn't Mean". When we were in school out teachers taught us what truth and lies were all about. Our parents taught most of us to tell the truth unless our parent was a politician and then I'm not sure.
Obama is not the first politician to lie and he won't be the last. His problem is that he has taken it to an "Art Form". This man can make a lie sound so good many people will believe it because HE said it. If we challenge it, we are called "Racists" or worse. I don't care if I am called a Racists because I know I'm not and a strong enough person in that belief to not let those names bother me.
When he lies and we know, he must be called to account as we are not that stupid.
