RUSSIANS PROTEST

Hundreds of Russians, including girls as young as 14 years old, have been arrested while participating in the unsanctioned rallies, banned under Russian law, according to reports. OVD-Info said 724 people were detained across 32 different cities on Saturday, per BBC News.

The protests have taken place in cities including Moscow, St Petersburg, Tomsk, and Omsk, Sky News reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin escaped to his secret palace near Gelendzhik, close to the Black Sea coast, amid anti-draft protests in Russia, MailOnline was first to report.

According to independent journalist Farida Rusamova, who cited three sources familiar with Putin's schedule, the Russian president traveled to his vacation home on Wednesday.

He has been resting his "body and soul" there, Rusamova said in a Telegram post, enjoying the facilities of the palace, which Putin publicly denies belongs to him.

Residents of the occupied town of Snihurivka in Mykolaiv Oblast have held a protest against a sham referendum on the region joining the Russian Federation which is being organised by Kremlin puppets.

Quote: "We, the residents of Snihurivka, have gathered today to protest against an unlawful referendum being held in the town of Snihurivka and neighbouring villages. The region of Snihurivka has always been Ukrainian - it was and will be Ukraine. We have never wanted to join the Russian Federation and we never will want to. We are calling on residents of Snihurivka and neighbouring villages, meaning those in Snihurivka hromada [an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories - ed.], not to attend the "referendum" and not to take part in the unlawful running of this referendum. Glory to Ukraine!"

Previously, Russian propagandist media reported that the occupation "authorities" were planning to join the occupied areas of Mykolaiv Oblast to occupied Kherson Oblast.

Background:

• On the morning of 23 September, Kremlin puppets in the occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts announced that "referendums" on joining Russia had begun.

• Mykhailo Podoliak, advisor to the head of the President's Office, said that the sham referendums being held by Kremlin puppets in the occupied areas of Donbas, Kherson Oblast and Zaporizhzhia Oblast were "propaganda shows".
