Jim Carrey is weighed in on the Covington Catholic High School controversy with art, not words.

The actor, who regularly paints scenes directly inspired by national headlines, labeled his latest image with a very short statement: "Baby snakes."

The piece depicts four boys: One snarling, one sticking his tongue out, one recording on a cell phone, and one smirking. In the foreground is Native American activist Nathan Phillips, one of the two people at the center of the viral video that sparked outrage.

The most prominently-featured boy is wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat, but "great" has been replaced by "hate."

Also of note is the American flag phone case on the iPhone, a nod to the millions of Americans who all watched the drama unfold thanks to cell phone footage.

President Trump -- a frequent target of Carrey's artwork -- has firmly backed the Covington students, tweeting that they are symbols of the evil of "fake news."

Threat to America - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Others Like Her

Ben Stein on Tuesday claimed policies advocated by freshman lawmaker Rep.Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)“invariably lead to bad things,” including genocide.

The actor, former speechwriter to President Richard M. Nixon, and political commentator even made comparisons to Adolf Hitler. 

Ocasio-Cortez has made headlines for advocating higher marginal tax rates of up to 70 percent on earnings past $10 million in income as well as a “Green New Deal” to tackle the climate crisis. 

But in a Fox Business clip posted online by Media Matters, Stein claimed her democratic socialist politics will lead to dictatorship and genocide:

 

“We have a society in which there are an awful lot of people who have no idea that Stalin, Hitler, Mao Tse-Tung all came to power promising the same kinds of things that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is promising. And it led to mass murder, it led to dictatorship, it led to genocide. These promises are old promises and they invariably lead to bad things.”

Stein said the current system “works extremely well” and “allows people to make something of themselves instead of oppressing other people” as they try to earn money. 

“Making money is one of the most of harmless things there is to do in the whole world,” he said. “And that’s what our society is about.”

Stein added:

 

“It’s not about ordering people around, putting them concentration camps. What do you do if a person is a richer or poorer person? What do you do? Do you take him away? Do you shoot him? Well that’s what the communists tried, it didn’t work out very well for them.”

 During an event honoring Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) cautioned the audience that climate change would “destroy the planet” by the year 2031 if people fail to address a generational challenge she likened to “Word War II.”

“Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’” Ocasio-Cortez told interviewer Tanehisi Coates at an “MLK Now” event in New York.

The timeline Ocasio-Cortez referenced was likely based on a U.N. backed report, released last year, that predicted the consequences of man-made climate change would become irreversible in twelve years if global carbon emissions are not immediately and dramatically reduced.

The 29-year-old self-described democratic socialist went on to attack the Democratic establishment for failing to act in a sufficiently aggressive manner to combat what she believes is an immediate, existential threat.

“Right now, with the current administration, with the current circumstances, with the abdication of responsibility that we’ve seen from so many powerful people, even people who abdicate that responsibility by calling themselves liberal or a Democrat, or whatever it is, I feel a need for all of us to breathe fire,” she said.

Since upsetting six-term incumbent Representative Joe Crowley (D., N.Y.) in November, Ocasio-Cortez has frequently utilized her massive social media following to publicly challenge the more centrist members of her party, drawing condemnations from senior lawmakers.

Much of the intra-party dissension centers around Ocasio-Cortez’s focus on developing a so-called green new deal to address climate change by transitioning the U.S. to purely renewable energy within the decade. She was rebuffed by party leadership after publicly demanding, just days after arriving on Capitol Hill, the creation of a specific committee to address the issue.

The Staff: The America I grew up with is being destroyed and our own elected officials are doing it. What will the people do? As I have stated here before, my father said we will have to arm ourselves and once again fight for freedom as our forefathers did before. I see no way to stop what is happening now without sometime in the future this happening. I ask one question, How did we get to this point????

On to Football and The Saints

While everyone on the planet knows the officials screwed up and cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl, the League head can't get the guts to tell it how it is. Whats his nuts has been and will always be a lightweight when it gets hard. 

The Rams should have never won the game and will forever be tagged as the team who got in on a gift from the officials. It could be worse, not really. 

Read below and all will see why.

Everyone knows that the officials blew a key non-call late in the NFC title game. The teams knows it. The players know it. The officials know it. The league knows it, and a league employee has said so.

But the league has reversed course on its plan to formally admit it, for now.

Per a league source, the NFL has decided to refrain, at least for tonight, from issuing a statement admitting that Bill Vinovich’s crew failed to call pass interference against Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman, who hit Saints receiver Tommylee Lewis prematurely on a key third down play with less than two minutes to play in regulation.

The Saints should have had the ball with a fresh set of downs, along with the ability to take a couple of knees, bleed the clock, and kick a chip-shot field goal to advance to Super Bowl LIII. Instead, the Saints had to kick the field goal with enough time left for the Rams to tie the game — and then for the Rams to win it in overtime.

Apparently, the powers-that-be are haggling over the language of the statement that would admit the mistake. The haggling will continue into Monday, at a minimum.

If the league hopes to retain any credibility whatsoever, it will acknowledge the mistake ASAP and commit to making changes aimed at preventing such mistakes in the future. As the clock ticks, it will only get harder for the league to clean up a mess that its own substandard procedures for spotting and fixing obvious errors has created.

The above says it all. So you have a teams that shouldn't be there and the other team that has a history of cheating, so I will take a pass on this so called "Super Bowl" know one team shouldn't be there and the other, nothing to say about them.

This blog is not for baseball but was wondering who is Kris Bryant and does he really play major league ball? I saw he was on the cubbies and he must be their crybaby bear. Look at the history of both teams Little Kris and you will learn the cubs can't carry the Cards jockstrap. 

To bad I tore up my elbow as I'd love to put a curveball behind his ass and see if he had the nerve to say there while it may break or maybe not. Had maybe loud mouths say they wouldn't bail all the while their feet were dancing.
